Cocoa butter or Theobroma cacao is born in the tropical rainforest of Central and South America. The Cocoa beans are cracked open to separate the out the nibs. The nibs are then ground into a thick paste which is pressed to extract the fat which we know as cocoa butter.
Therapeutically, cocoa butter is considered to be emollient, occlusive and an antioxidant. Cocoa butter has been used for dry, sore and chapped skin, wrinkles and mature skin.
