Palm Kernel Butter, or Elaeis guineensis, is native to Africa. However, it is cultivated throughout West and Central Africa, Malaysia and Indonesia.
Palm Kernel reportedly has been recognized for its medicinal value in Ayurvedic medicine in 2000 B.C. Therapeutically, it acts as an emollient, cooling and an anti-inflammatory. Applications for Palm Kernel are for dry skin, itchy skin and regenerative skin care.
